Le Miroir was a magazine that was published every Sunday and was launched in 1910 as a paper supplement to the Petit Parisien. From early 1912 the magazine became more independent and focused on providing photographs about current events.
After the mobilisation in August 1914 the magazine pivoted to become a war time magazine providing weekly insight into the war, but with still a focus on photos.
As you will notice, many photos are staged or have been doctored to provide positive images of France war effort. Nevertheless that did not mean that the pictures were all of the living, as the magazine often used images of dead soldiers to provide shock and ore to reader.
The small price to pay, was 25 cents for this weekly digest of frontline news with a heavy dose of propaganda.
