My Darling
Since yesterday we are back in the trenches, today we not returned to the rear as we have been doing. I am part of the first wave and therefore well positioned. When will we go? we do not know, as we have now been waiting for a couple of days. The artillery has been increasing along with its intensity, it is now so loud its enough to make you deaf.
I hope this time the gaps in the wire have been made and that the sacrifices made will be worth it. In the meantime, whatever happens to me, you will be notified. So prepare yourself for this fateful moment, we knew that such a day would come. It may be that I get through this bad moment without too many difficulty and just being wounded. In any case, if something bad happens to me, please be courageous and prepare yourself for this worst. What can I say, this is my destiny. Don’t forget our little girl and that you have a duty to her now and later. Above all, don’t be alarmed by what I am telling, I am not dead yet and I hope that this never happens to me during this end of campaign.
What more do you want me to tell you? except that I love you, my two darlings. I trust you and therefore you have to trust me and be strong and prepared.
In any case, if I succumb, I can assure you that my wife and daughter, will not have to be ashamed of me.
